Latin.png Latin text

Christum ascendentem in caelum;
venite, adoremus, alleluia.
Ascendens Christus in altum, alleluia,
captivam duxit captivitatem, alleluia.
Non turbetur cor vestrum,
quia vado ad Patrem.
Et dum assumptus, fuero mittam vobis, alleluia,
Spiritum veritatis, et gaudebit cor vestrum. Alleluia.

Omnis pulchritudo Domini exaltata est super sidera;
et species eius in nubibus caeli,
et nomen eius in aeternum permanet. Alleluia.
O rex gloriae, Christe qui hodie super caelos ascendisti:
ne derelinquas nos orphanos,
sed mitte promissum Patris in nos:
Spiritum veritatis, alleluia.

English.png English text

Christ ascending into heaven;
come, let us adore Him, alleluia.
Christ ascending on high, alleluia,
took captivity prisoner, alleluja.
Let not your heart be troubled,
for I go to the Father.
And when I am taken up, I will send unto you, alleluia,
the Spirit of truth, and your heart shall rejoice. Alleluia.

All the beauty of the Lord has been exalted above the stars;
and his beauty is in the clouds of heaven,
and his name endures forever. Alleluia.
O king of glory, Christ who today has ascended above all the heavens:
do not abandon us orphans,
but send into us the promise of the Father:
the Spirit of truth, alleluia.
