Description: Anonymous motet from Attaingnant's Fourth Book of motets. The second voice down is an occasionally decorated cantus firmus part. The clefs in the source were C4, C4, F3, F4, so this is very much a male voice work, suggestive of two tenors, baritone and bass. One curiosity is that, where the standard text would have had 'O benigna, O regina, O Maria', the partbooks all have 'O benigna' three times, while the music is identical for each, consisting simply of four block chords. This strongly suggests that the words, at least, should have been different each time, as in other settings of the same text, but that the printer made an error.
