English text
The moon is beaming o’er the lake,
Come sail in our light canoe;
Sweet strains of music we’ll awake,
As we glide o’er the waters blue.
The vesper bells now softly peal
From out yonder lonely tower;
Their tones now gently on us steal,
Proclaiming the vesper hour.
