Alle volken, klap in je handen, juich voor God met een stem vol vreugde:
want de allerhoogste Heer is ontzagwekkend, een groot koning over de hele aarde.
Hij heeft volken aan ons onderworpen en
heidenvolken aan onze voeten gebracht.
Hij heeft voor ons uit zijn erfenis gekozen: de luister van Jacob, die hij zo liefhad.
God is opgestegen onder gejuich en de Heer onder trompetgeschal.
Zing voor onze God, zing; zing voor onze koning, zing,
want God is de koning van de hele aarde: zing een feestelijk lied.
God heerst over de heidenvolken; God zit op zijn heilige troon.
De vorsten van de volken zijn samengekomen rondom de God van Abraham,
want de sterke machthebbers zijn ver verheven boven de aarde.
